Living Slow and Steady

Matthew 28:19-20 -- Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you . . .

Luke 16:15 -- And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God."

I Timothy 4:13 -- Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

I Timothy 4:16 -- Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

I Timothy 5:24 -- Some men's sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment.

I Timothy 6:12-14 -- Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing.

I Timothy 6:20-21 -- Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge -- by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.

II Timothy 2:16-17a -- But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.

II Timothy 4:1-5 -- I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
